The pharmaceutical company's warehouse has strict requirements for the shelves, including clear classification of medicines, convenient access, moisture and dust prevention, etc. Additionally, since some medicines need to be accessed manually, the height, spacing between layers, and safety of the shelves need to be specially designed. So, what types of shelves are used in the pharmaceutical company's warehouse for manual access? Let's find out.

The medium-sized pallet rack is the most commonly used type of manual access rack in pharmaceutical warehouses. The load-bearing capacity is generally designed to be between 200-800kg per layer, with a simple structure that can be combined with pallets (wooden, steel, anti-static). The layer height is adjustable, suitable for different height medicine boxes and test kits, suitable for unpacking and picking, and convenient for manual handling.

The second type is the attic-style rack and the smooth-flowing rack. The attic-style rack is an upgraded version of the pallet rack, designed to make full use of the high space in the warehouse and is widely used in pharmaceutical warehouses. The smooth-flowing rack is a type of first-in-first-out rack, with a load-bearing capacity generally designed to be 100-300kg per layer. It uses rollers or slides to automatically move the goods to the picking end, suitable for batch management, reducing handling time. It is suitable for medicines that require strict expiration management, such as infusion bags and injections, as well as high-frequency picking areas in pharmaceutical distribution centers.
