There are many types of warehouse shelves suitable for storing goods in cold storage, such as gravity through-type shelves, which are one of them. Its storage locations are dense, the storage capacity is large, and the efficiency of accessing and retrieving goods is also relatively high. It is widely used in warehouses and cold storage facilities of various industries. Is the gravity through-type rack suitable for use in cold storage at minus 20 degrees Celsius? Let's find out below.

Gravity through-type rack

Gravity through-type shelves can be used in cold storage environments with temperatures as low as -20 ℃, but special designs and material optimizations are required for low-temperature conditions to ensure safety, durability and operational efficiency. For instance, if Q355, a material more suitable for low-temperature cold storage, is used for production and manufacturing, and the surface of the shelves needs to be treated for rust prevention (such as galvanization or epoxy coating) to prevent condensation water corrosion, then its durability will be higher.

It should be noted that goods in low-temperature cold storage are prone to frost and ice formation. When using gravity through-type shelves, damping devices or buffer systems need to be strengthened to prevent excessive sliding speed from causing impacts. Pallet goods such as frozen foods, seafood and ice cream that need to be stored at low temperatures for a long time can all be considered for storage with gravity through-rack.
