Which type of storage rack, the palletized gravity rack or the shuttle rack, has a lower cost?

Gravity rack and shuttle rack are both efficient solutions for dense storage, but there are certain differences in their structures, operation methods, and costs. When enterprises make a choice, they often need to consider factors such as initial investment, long-term operating costs, and storage requirements comprehensively. Which one has a lower cost? Let's find out.
The pallet-type gravity shelves use inclined tracks and rollers, and the goods slide by their own weight to achieve first-in-first-out. They are mainly composed of columns, beams, roller tracks, and damping devices, and do not require power drive. The structure is relatively simple, the installation period is short, and the labor cost is lower.
The shuttle-type shelves consist of shelves and shuttle carts, achieving semi-automated storage and relying on power operation. The installation and debugging requirements are higher than those of gravity-type shelves. Both are dense warehouse shelves, with high storage capacity and efficiency. However, the shuttle-type shelves have a shuttle cart as an automated device, so from the basic structure perspective, the gravity shelves are simpler. Therefore, under the same requirements, the initial cost of pallet-type gravity shelves is usually lower.
