four-way shuttle rack is a kind of equipment for automatic cargo handling. It is connected with wireless remote control, combined with identification technologies such as RFID and bar code, to easily realize automatic identification and access of goods on the shelf. The principle of the four-way shuttle inventory is to place the four-way shuttle on the running rack rails under the pallet. Under the guidance of the remote control command or the wms system, the lifting platform of the shuttle car faces upwards, the pallet unit is lifted and run to the destination, and then the goods on the pallet are stored on the cargo space.

The inventory principle of the four-way shuttle is to place the pallet unit goods in front of the roadway guide rail of the four-way shuttle rack by forklift or stacker. Then the warehouse workers use radio remote control to operate the four-way shuttle to carry the pallet unit to run on the shelf guide rail and transport it to the corresponding cargo position. The four-way shuttle can be placed on different rack tracks by forklifts or stackers, and one four-way shuttle can be used for multiple rack lanes. The number of four-way shuttles is determined by comprehensive factors such as the depth of the rack, the total cargo volume, and the frequency of entering and leaving the warehouse.

The four-way shuttle has fast running speed and high storage density, which can not only improve logistics efficiency and space utilization, but also greatly save manpower and storage area and is easy to expand. It is precisely because of these advantages that the four-way shuttle is favored by many industries and its application is becoming more and more extensive.
